Pinel Island

The tiny piece of land called Pinel Island is located just off the northeast coast of St. Maarten, slightly to the north of Orient Beach. It's small size is no reason to give it a pass though. It's practically one big beach, and a relaxing one at that, with some truly unique features you can't find elsewhere on St. Maarten.

The island beach is almost entirely protected from the surf, so calm waters are the order of the day. Perfect for swimming, wading, snorkeling, or just lazing in the water, the shallows stretch on and on. It's a great place for kids to be in the ocean because you don't have to worry about them getting pounded by waves.

There are a couple of places on the island to get food, and there's also a small gift shop where you can purchase various sorts of gifts.

There are multiple reefs to enjoy in the calm waters around the island, so be sure to bring your snorkeling gear along.

Also, be aware, this is a clothing optional location.
